Kirsty’s sporting career began as a junior footballer at the Blackburn Centre of Excellence where her P.E. teacher suggested she tried playing in goal. Following a successful run on the pitch, Kirsty became goalkeeper for the England U16 squad at the age of 13, the youngest goalkeeper ever. This was prior to discovering her talent and love for hockey which lead her to captain England more times than she has caps.
Outside of the GB hockey team, Kirsty has a degree in Sport and Exercise Science and she is currently studying for a masters in Sports and Exercise Physiology. As a sporting champion, she regularly attends schools and events to inspire people to engage in sport. Kirsty has also recently set up her own coaching business – Mac 2 Sport.
